As part of its ongoing plan to maintain public safety and environmental cleanliness in the city's neighborhoods, the Health Committee of Saida Municipality is continuing its field campaign to combat rodents and rats in the old neighborhoods of Saida. This is being done by installing a large number of traps and boxes specifically for rat control in strategic locations and carefully chosen pathways. Dr. Taisir Za'tari, Head of the Health Committee, confirmed that the technical teams of the contractor will conduct regular follow-ups to place the poison in these traps and renew them to ensure the campaign’s effectiveness and eliminate the breeding grounds. Saida Municipality regrets that some people have recently been observed breaking and vandalizing a number of these traps shortly after they were installed, which hinders municipal work and leads to a waste of public money and the spread of health pests . Accordingly, Saida Municipality urges the residents to make sure to warn children not to tamper with these traps, try to move them, or break them, as they contain poisonous materials that could be dangerous if touched directly.
