The Municipality of Sidon categorically denies the reports circulating about the State Security apparatus surrounding the municipal building. It also denies a number of inaccurate pieces of information accompanying these reports, particularly the misuse of the municipality's logo to promote scenarios that bear no relation to reality.

The Municipality of Sidon wishes to emphasize that the procedures undertaken by the State Security apparatus were carried out in accordance with established legal procedures, with complete professionalism, and in full cooperation and direct coordination with the mayor, without any exceptional security measures or disruption to municipal operations.

The Municipality of Sidon further clarifies that it initiated an investigation more than a month ago, based on reports submitted by the municipality's administrative and financial staff, into the alleged irregularities attributed to the treasurer, and is diligently pursuing this matter with utmost seriousness and responsibility. In this context, and pursuant to the minutes of Municipal Council Meeting No. (11) dated November 19, 2025, the Mayor of Sidon formed an internal investigation committee by official decision. The municipality's lawyer was also tasked with pursuing the case legally. Furthermore, communication and coordination were established with a relevant official body, particularly the Civil Service Council, to determine the necessary administrative and legal procedures, in accordance with established regulations and laws.

The Municipality of Sidon affirms its full cooperation with the judiciary and the relevant security agencies, and places all required documents and files at the disposal of the concerned authorities, in adherence to the principle of transparency and in its commitment to uncovering the whole truth and taking all necessary measures against any violation or negligence proven by the investigation.

The municipality also emphasizes its respect for the ongoing judicial investigations and its refusal to issue any premature judgments, while simultaneously affirming that protecting public funds and safeguarding the municipal administration from any suspicion of corruption constitutes a firm and non-negotiable priority.

The Municipality of Sidon assures the public and the city's residents that it will keep citizens informed of any official developments in due course, within the bounds of the law and the progress of the investigations.
