As part of the ongoing relief plan to support the resilience of the city's residents, organized by the Sidon Municipality in collaboration with the Disaster and Crisis Management Room in the South Lebanon Governorate, the third batch of aid for the people of Sidon, provided by the Humanitarian Cooperation Association, was distributed today, Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the 'Rafic Hariri Sports City' (Municipal Stadium), under the supervision of the Higher Relief Commission and the South Lebanon Governorate (Disaster and Crisis Management Room). The distribution was attended on behalf of the Sidon Municipality by its president, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, the Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Group, Dr. Bassam Hammoud, the Head of the Disaster and Crisis Management Room in the South Lebanon Governorate, Salam Badr El-Din, and members of the Sidon Municipal Council: Mohamed Al-Dandashli, Majed Abdel Jawad, Wael Qasb, Rami Bshasha, Mustafa Al-Bazri, Ahmad Shaib, along with the Director of the Disaster and Crisis Management Cell, Wafaa Shaib. Representing the Humanitarian Cooperation Association were the association’s director, Dr. Fadi Shamiya, the association’s president, Mohamed Abdel Aal, and the association's team and volunteers .This phase included the distribution of 1,000 food baskets, which is the third batch out of a total of 4,000 portions allocated for the people of Sidon through the Humanitarian Cooperation Association The field organization was supervised by municipal council member Engineer Mustafa Al-Bazri, with the participation of the Sidon Municipal Police, the municipal volunteers unit, Lebanese University students, and the Lebanon Future Scouts.
