As part of its ongoing campaign to maintain public cleanliness and the civilized appearance of the city, and in implementation of applicable laws and regulations, Sidon Municipality announces the start of taking strict legal actions against anyone who throws waste randomly on streets and public roads. In this context, the Sidon Municipal Police Command today referred an official letter, after receiving a report documented with photos and videos from a citizen on 19/5/2026, indicating that the driver of a silver Toyota Yaris threw waste on the public road, in a behavior lacking environmental responsibility and civic sense. Accordingly, an immediate letter was prepared to be sent to His Excellency, the Governor of South Lebanon, requesting him to instruct the Commander of the South Regional Area of the Internal Security Forces to take the necessary legal actions against the violator, including his detention, drawing up a record against him, and taking the appropriate legal measure . Sidon Municipality highly appreciates the social awareness and responsible sense of citizens who reject such harmful behaviors and contribute to documenting and reporting them, emphasizing that the city’s streets and neighborhoods are public property and not a dumping ground for waste or a free-for-all space to Sidon Municipality also stresses that staying silent about these actions harms the public interest and undermines the daily efforts of cleaning crews and municipal teams to keep the city clean and looking good. They warn all citizens, residents, and drivers not to throw any trash or litter from vehicle windows or in places that are not designated for it, making it clear that the municipal police, in cooperation with security bodies, will keep chasing offenders and issuing fines and reports against anyone proven to commit these environmental violations.
