Sidon Municipality organizes an environmental awareness and beach cleanup campaign

The Environmental Committee of Sidon Municipality, in cooperation with “Aamalna” Association, “Friends of Al-Zira – Sidon” Association, and NTCC, organized an environmental awareness and beach cleanup campaign on Sidon’s beach, with notable participation from young men, women, and volunteers. The initiative aims to promote environmental awareness and reinforce a culture of cleanliness and volunteer work.

The campaign witnessed strong engagement from participants, who worked on cleaning the beach and removing waste, emphasizing the importance of preserving the marine environment and public spaces as a shared responsibility requiring collective effort.

Committee head Mr. Youssef Taameh praised the efforts of the participating organizations and volunteers, commending their spirit of initiative and cooperation, which contributed to the success of the campaign. He noted that it reflects a growing awareness of the importance of environmental protection and maintaining a clean city.

Participants also extended thanks to the restaurant “Turki Hayat Doner,” which provided lunch for the volunteers and organizers, in a supportive initiative that embodies social responsibility and cooperation with environmental and community activities.
