As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation and coordination with Saida’s key stakeholders in order to safeguard and strengthen the city on all levels, Mayor Eng. Mustafa Hijazi and Vice Mayor Dr. Ahmad Akra, accompanied by a delegation of Municipal Council members including Eng. Mohammad Dandashli, Eng. Baraa Hariri, Mr. Khaled Affara, and Mr. Ahmad Choueib, conducted a series of extensive meetings with the city’s political and community leaders.The municipal delegation met with Members of Parliament Dr. Osama Saad and Dr. Abdel Rahman Bizri, President of the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development Mrs. Bahia Hariri, and Deputy Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Group in Lebanon Dr. Bassam Hammoud.During the meetings, the Mayor and the accompanying delegation briefed the city’s leaders on the strict enforcement measures that Saida Municipal Police have been implementing along the city’s seafront promenade over the past two days. Under the direct supervision of Municipal Council Member and Head of the Violations Committee Mr. Wael Kassab, and Municipal Police Commander Commissioner Badr Al-Qawam, the municipal police launched a large-scale campaign that resulted in the removal of unauthorized structures and encroachments along the waterfront, including unlicensed tents and tables.

The delegation explained that the campaign will continue without interruption and that the municipal police are preparing to proceed in the coming days with the removal of all illegally operating “Express” vehicles stationed along the seaside promenade. These measures aim to organize public spaces, reduce disorder, ease severe traffic congestion, and restore the waterfront as a natural recreational space for all residents and visitors of Saida.The delegation emphasized that this field plan is being implemented in full coordination with the Governorate of South Lebanon and the relevant security and military authorities.The municipal council’s efforts received strong support and full endorsement from all the leaders and figures visited during the tour. Participants stressed the importance of withdrawing political protection from any violator and enforcing laws and regulations firmly and impartially. They also commended the municipality’s efforts to preserve the city’s security, safety, and public order.The meetings concluded with a joint agreement between the municipality and the city’s leadership to hold regular and ongoing consultative meetings aimed at reviewing and discussing all emerging developments affecting the city, coordinating efforts, overcoming challenges, and preserving Saida’s security, stability, and social well-being on all levels.
