Sidon Municipality Environmental Committee organizes interactive activity on Sidon beach under the title “Environment Brings Us Together”

The Municipality of Sidon, through its Environmental Committee headed by municipal council member Mr. Youssef Taameh, in partnership with the “URDA” Association, held an environmental recreational activity under the slogan “Environment Brings Us Together” on the city’s beach, in an atmosphere marked by strong cooperation and positive human interaction among participants.

The activity was attended and supported by the Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, and municipal council members Majed Abdul Jawad and Wael Qassab. It witnessed broad participation, including 72 displaced persons from 33 southern villages and towns, as well as 25 secondary school students from the National Evangelical School of Arts in Sidon.

The environmental day included a large beach cleanup campaign aimed at raising awareness about the importance of preserving the marine environment and maintaining the cleanliness of public spaces, while reinforcing a culture of shared responsibility and environmental citizenship toward the city and its coastline.

The Municipality of Sidon extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to all the organizations and partners whose efforts contributed to the success of this special day, especially: URDA Association, NTCC Cleaning Company, National Evangelical School of Arts – Sidon, the Lebanese Red Cross, the Southern Coast Detachment of the Internal Security Forces, and the management of “Hayat Doner” restaurant for providing meals to participants.
