Sidon Municipality Lights the Christmas Tree at Elia Intersection in Cooperation with Toy Mall Kabalan Brothers

Sidon Municipality lit the Christmas tree this evening at Elia Intersection in the city, in cooperation with Toy Mall Kabalan Brothers. The illuminated tree adorned the square and added a festive atmosphere as the city prepares to celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year 2026.

The ceremony was attended by Acting Mayor and Deputy Mayor Dr. Ahmad Akra, Mr. Fadi Kabalan representing Toy Mall Kabalan Brothers, former MP Dr. Salim Khoury, Sidon Municipal Council Member and Chair of the Environment Committee Mr. Youssef Touma, Hlaliyeh Municipal Council Member and Chair of the Public Works Committee Mrs. Hana Abou Mrad, Mr. Ahmad Hijazi representing Bqosta Association, and a number of public figures.

The Christmas tree and festive decorations were designed and installed under the supervision of Mr. Mohammad Azzam, with the assistance of Ms. Paula Touma and Ms. Farah Kabalan. The Municipality also acknowledged the valued contribution of Hoballah Generator Subscriptions.

Dr. Akra and Mr. Kabalan officially switched on the Christmas tree lights, which illuminated the square amid the applause of attendees and a fireworks display. Santa Claus then rang his bell to welcome participants and add to the festive spirit.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Akra said:

"Today, Sidon Municipality continues to support religious and tourism-related activities that strengthen coexistence in our city. Today we celebrate the lighting of the Christmas tree, and, God willing, in about two months we will celebrate Sidon as a city embracing the spirit of Ramadan.

We thank Mr. Fadi Kabalan for his generous initiative in donating the Christmas tree. This gesture is a testament to our commitment to coexistence. Here in Sidon, we firmly believe that living together in harmony is essential to the city's progress and development, with the participation of all its communities.

We also take this opportunity to extend our warmest wishes to all Lebanese, especially our Christian brothers and sisters, on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year. We hope these celebrations will bring goodness, blessings, and stability to our beloved Lebanon and its people."

For his part, Mr. Kabalan expressed his delight at celebrating this occasion alongside Sidon Municipality as Christmas and the New Year approach.

He noted that Toy Mall Kabalan Brothers' initiative is only the beginning of further community initiatives aimed at reinforcing the values of coexistence in Sidon—a city that has always welcomed the people of South Lebanon, East Sidon, the Iqlim Al-Kharroub region, and visitors from across the country with open arms.
