Sidon Municipality erects banners commemorating the 21st anniversary of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri: "The greatest presence despite his absence" Sidon Municipality - Media Office

On the occasion of the approaching 21st anniversary of his assassination, the Municipality of Sidon paid tribute to the soul of the martyred Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. Banners bearing his image alongside the Lebanese flag and the phrase "21 years... We haven't forgotten... You are still with us" were erected at the entrance to the Municipal Palace, Nejmeh Square, Elias Intersection, Marjan Roundabout, and Hariri Mosque Roundabout.

This year, the Municipality of Sidon chose the slogan "The Greatest Presence Despite the Absence," as a special tribute to the man whose memory is cherished, a testament to the enduring presence of Sidon in his heart and mind, whose love for the city was synonymous with his love for his country, and a reminder of the profound loss felt in these difficult times. For the most impactful absence is that which leaves an indelible mark, no matter how many years pass; an absence that immortalizes its owner through his stances, actions, achievements, and sacrifices. How much more so when the impact he left is as vast as the future of generations, when the achievement is as significant as the nation itself, and when the sacrifice reached the point of giving his life for it.
