The Municipality of Sidon meets with the director of Al-Hamshari Hospital and emphasizes strengthening health and humanitarian cooperation

The Municipality of Sidon, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, received Dr. Safwat Iskandar, Director of Al-Hamshari Hospital, affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society – Lebanon Branch, at his office in the Municipal Palace. Dr. Iskandar was accompanied by journalist Dr. Wassim Wani. The visit, which had a health and humanitarian focus, reflects the deep relationship between the Municipality of Sidon and the Palestinian institutions operating in the city.

The meeting included discussions on ways to enhance cooperation between the Municipality of Sidon and Al-Hamshari Hospital, in order to serve the residents of the city and its refugee camps and improve the level of healthcare services provided. They also discussed mechanisms for coordination on issues of mutual interest, particularly regarding emergency response, the development of health and community initiatives, and the consolidation of partnerships that will positively impact health and social stability in Sidon. For his part, the Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, emphasized the pioneering role of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Lebanon, praising the efforts of Al-Hamshari Hospital in providing high-quality and comprehensive medical services. He commended the dedication shown by the medical and administrative staff in serving patients without discrimination. Hijazi also noted the importance of continued cooperation and integration between official and non-governmental institutions, for the benefit of the city's residents and all those living within its borders.

In turn, the Director of Al-Hamshari Hospital, Dr. Safwat Iskandar, expressed his deep appreciation for the national and humanitarian role played by the Municipality of Sidon and its constant commitment to supporting the Palestinian people and their institutions. He affirmed that this cooperation constitutes a fundamental pillar for strengthening the resilience of our community and developing our health services to meet the needs of the current situation. He also stressed that the hospital will remain a beacon of medical and humanitarian service for all, stemming from its professional and national mission.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on continuing coordination and ongoing consultation between the two sides, which will strengthen joint efforts and solidify a successful model of partnership between the municipality and health institutions, serving Sidon and its people, and embodying the values ​​of solidarity and shared responsibility.
