The following statement was issued by the Committee for Regulating the Generator Sector:
- Owners of private electric generators must adhere to the unified kilowatt tariff issued by the Ministry of Energy for the month of June, which is 41,973 L.L. per kilowatt-hour, provided that the generator feeds for no less than 12 hours a day. If the feeding hours exceed 17 hours, the price becomes 50,000 L.L. per kilowatt-hour, calculated based on an average dollar rate of 89,500 L.L.
- For subscribers with meters, the fixed subscription fee is set at 385,000 L.L. for 5-amp capacity and 685,000 L.L. for 10-amp capacity, with an additional 300,000 L.L. for every extra 5 amps.
- Regarding elevators and shared sections using three-phase capacities (Triphase), the generator owner should calculate the fixed part of the tariff based on single-phase capacity (monophase). For example, if the elevator and shared sections subscribe with a three-phase breaker of 3×15 amps, the fixed part should be calculated based on 15 amps, not 45 amps, meaning 985,000 L.L. instead of 2,785,000 L.L.
- It is mandatory to issue an invoice clearly showing the name and address of the generator owner, their phone number, the subscriber's name, subscription capacity, previous meter ,The current meter, monthly consumption, kilowatt price, monthly consumption cost, fixed subscription according to the Ministry's price, and the final total without any other additions like spacing.
- It is mandatory to issue a clear schedule of supply hours and circulate it to subscribers.
- It is mandatory to install and certify meters for all subscribers.
- If the generator owner decides to permanently shut down their generator and exit the service, they must give a 3-month notice beforehand (notification should be submitted in writing to the Saida Municipality or the relevant municipality).
- Based on the agreement of the Generator Sector Regulatory Committee with the Southern Public Prosecutor's Office, this office will receive citizens' complaints through the concerned police stations to take the necessary legal actions.
- The committee will inform the Public Prosecutor in the South about the content of this statement.
