Yesterday, Friday, the Fox Stadium witnessed a unique sporting atmosphere at the opening of the 7th Ramadan tournament for popular clubs, with a wide official and public attendance reflecting the importance of this long-standing Ramadan sporting event, sponsored by the Saida municipality. Present at the event were the Mayor of Saida, Mr. Mustafa Hijazi, members of the municipal council Mr. Youssef Taameh, Mr. Khaled Afara, head of the Youth and Sports Committee in the municipality, the head of the Union of Popular Clubs in Saida and the surrounding area Sheikh Dr. Iyad Abu Al-Aradat, the head of the political office of the Islamic Group Dr. Bassam Hammoud, the representative of MP Osama Saad Mr. Hussein Bouab, the representative of Mrs. Bahia Hariri and general coordinator of the Future Movement Mr. Mazen Hashisho, the head of the Haraki office Brigadier General Ghaleb Al-Saleh, the head of the Union of Saida Academies and surrounding areas Ayman Hawash, the administrative and financial director of the Haraki offices Bilal Al-Ali, the head of the Committee for Prisoners and Wounded Abu Khaled Abu Moussa, the director of public relations at the Palestinian Youth and Sports Foundation Khalil Al-Ali, and gentlemen: Mohi Al-Din Jamal, Abu Bilal Azzam, Aref Khashoun, Mohamed Al-Masri, Afif Al-Nasr, former Al-Ansar club player Captain Mohamed Al-Asta, Haj Bilal Zaid, and Bassam Ghandour.Hassan Khaskia, Hossam Al-Bazri, Ahmed Saloum, Rwad  Sleqa, Wissam Hosni.  

The ceremony started with the entrance of the two teams, Al-Ikhwa and Hotin, followed by the Lebanese and Palestinian national anthems. Then, the host of the ceremony, Miss Sabine Afara, gave a welcoming speech, followed by the speech of the Mayor of Sidon, Mr. Mustafa Hijazi, who welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of popular sports tournaments in promoting both sportsmanship and social spirit, and praising the activities organized by the Popular Clubs Association. He also affirmed the continuous support of Sidon Municipality for athletes in Sidon and its surroundings.  

Then, the head of the Popular Clubs Association, Sheikh Dr. Iyad Abu Al-Ardat, gave a speech congratulating the audience on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, thanking Sidon Municipality for its ongoing sponsorship, and reviewing the history of the annual Ramadan tournament, which started in the 1990s at the Sidon Martyrs Stadium (the nuns’ stadium).  

The speeches concluded with the head of the Youth Committee, Mr. Khaled Afara, who delivered a speech inspired by the occasion, saying: 'In this month of goodness and blessings, we gather today not just to compete, but to renew values of love, respect, and sportsmanship. Sports in Sidon has always been and will continue to be a space for meeting and unity, and we all must preserve this noble message, so our fields remain platforms .Morals come before competition arenas'
