The Governor of the South, Mr. Mansour Daou, and the President of the Sidon-Zahraa Municipalities Union, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, accompanied by a delegation of union mayors, visited President Joseph Aoun. During the meeting, they reviewed the general situation and the current challenges facing Sidon and the southern region at this critical time. During the meeting, President Aoun affirmed that Sidon and the entire South have suffered and continue to face many challenges and crises, emphasizing that one of the state's main duties is to stand by them and support the resilience of its people. He also stressed the utmost importance of maintaining the official state institutions and the Lebanese army as a fundamental pillar for stability and national unity. For his part, the Governor of the South, Mr. Mansour Daou, stressed the absolute adherence to the state and its legitimate institutions, affirming that the Lebanese deeply believe that Lebanon is their common homeland, that there is no shelter for them other than the Lebanese flag, and no protection against challenges except a just state; a state of law and institutions. Engineer Hijazi: Progress begins with supporting municipalities. Likewise, the President of the Sidon-Zahraa Municipalities Union and Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, pointed out that this visit comes from a shared concern to strengthen.The bonds of cooperation and coordination between the local authorities and the Lebanese state and all its agencies. Engineer Hijazi emphasized that the union believes that the real revival of Lebanon and the protection of its societal security begin with supporting cities and towns and empowering municipal councils financially and logistically, so they can fulfill their developmental, service, and national roles in serving both citizens and newcomers alike under these exceptional circumstances.
