Since the first moments of last night, following the beginning of the displacement movement from South Lebanon, Sidon Municipality and the Crisis and Disaster Management Committee have mobilized all their teams to ensure the highest levels of preparedness and response to urgent needs. The municipality would like to inform the public ,of the following: First: Shelter Centers and Logistical Preparations .In coordination with the relevant authorities, the municipality directly supervised the opening and preparation of several public schools and buildings designated as shelters within the city of Sidon. As of now, there are eight operational shelter centers:- Martyr Maarouf Saad Intermediate School- Hikmat Al-Sabbagh Secondary School- Al-Islah Second School- Angelique Saliba School- Kuwaiti School- Qanaya Public School- Nazih El-Bizri School- Sidon Vocational Institute. Field teams have so far received more than 2,000 displaced persons and have secured and distributed quantities of mattresses and essential supplies to ensure the dignity and safety of those staying in these centers. Efforts continue to address ,any shortages on a regular basis. Second: Availability of Food Supplies and Fuel ,Sidon Municipality and the Operations Room reassure residents of the city and neighboring areas that food supplies and fuel are available in warehouses and fuel stations in sufficient quantities. The Operations Room has conducted a series of communications and direct coordination efforts with the relevant official administrations and commercial sectors, confirming that strategic reserves are secured.  Accordingly, the municipality urges citizens not to rush to purchase goods or stockpile fuel, as supplies are being delivered regularly and there is no cause for concern or for creating ,unnecessary congestion. Third: Continuous Monitoring and Follow-Up ,The Operations Room remains in continuous session to monitor all field and relief developments. Sidon Municipality will issue further statements on a regular basis to keep citizens informed of any new developments and to ensure transparency and the dissemination of accurate information to everyone. Conclusion, Sidon Municipality calls upon everyone to demonstrate the awareness, solidarity, and social cohesion that have always distinguished our city, and to rely exclusively on official statements issued by the municipality.
