The following statement was issued by the Generator Sector Regulation Committee:

- Private generator owners are obligated to adhere to the unified kilowatt-hour tariff issued by the Ministry of Energy for the month of February, which is 33,268 Lebanese pounds (L.L.) per kilowatt-hour, provided that the supply hours are not less than 12 hours per day. If the supply hours exceed 17 hours, the price becomes 37,000 L.L. per kilowatt-hour, based on an average exchange rate of 89,700 L.L. to the US dollar.

- For subscribers with meters, the fixed subscription fee is set at 385,000 L.L. for a 5-ampere capacity and 685,000 L.L. for a 10-ampere capacity, with an additional 300,000 L.L. for each additional 5 amps.

- Regarding elevators and shared areas that share three-phase power, the generator owner must calculate the fixed portion of the tariff based on the single-phase capacity. For example, if the elevator and shared areas are connected to a three-phase circuit breaker (3 x 15 amps), the fixed charge is calculated based on a 15-amp capacity, not 45 amps, i.e., 985,000 Lebanese pounds, not 2,785,000 Lebanese pounds.

- It is mandatory to issue an invoice clearly showing the generator owner's name, address, and phone number, the subscriber's name, the subscription capacity, the previous meter reading, the current meter reading, the monthly consumption, the price per kilowatt-hour, the monthly consumption value, the fixed subscription fee according to the Ministry's rate, and the final total without any additional charges such as those for spaced-out connections.

- It is mandatory to issue a clear schedule of power supply hours and distribute it to subscribers.

- It is mandatory to install and activate meters for all subscribers

- If the generator owner decides to permanently shut down their generator and cease operations, they must provide a three-month notice period. (Notification must be submitted in writing to the Sidon Municipality or the relevant municipality).

- Based on an agreement between the Generator Sector Regulation Committee and the Public Prosecutor's Office of Appeal in the South, this office will receive citizens' complaints through the relevant police stations to take the necessary legal measures. - The committee will inform the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Appeal in the South of the contents of this statement.

The Ministry of Energy and Water draws the attention of private generator owners and the public to the fact that the following additions to the Ministry's indicative pricing are prohibited:

1- Unjustified Value Added Tax (VAT) not officially registered with the TVA Directorate at the Ministry of Finance.

2- Additional fees or charges under any pretext, such as generator or network maintenance costs, etc

3- Pricing to consumers in foreign currency

4- Additional fees for citizens who...
