Sidon Municipality Condemns the Targeting of Civilian Buildings and Facilities in Sidon.

Sidon Municipality strongly condemns the criminal attack carried out by the Israeli enemy, which targeted the Islamic Group Center in the heart of Sidon, as well as another building in Haret Saida. The municipality affirms that this aggression represents a dangerous escalation in the violation of the city's security and the safety of its residents. The occurrence of the two airstrikes in densely populated residential areas reflects the enemy’s complete disregard for human life and clearly aims to terrorize civilians and undermine stability in the capital of South Lebanon. We emphasize that this systematic policy of intimidation and the targeting of civilian facilities is not new to the history of this enemy; rather, it is part of its longstanding approach based on aggression, intimidation, and the destruction of the infrastructure of Lebanese society. The municipality places this attack before the international community and United Nations bodies as further evidence of the enemy’s violation of all international laws and conventions designed to protect civilians and residential areas. In conclusion, Sidon Municipality salutes the steadfastness of the people of the city and its surroundings and reaffirms its support for them, stressing that such attacks will only make Sidon and its people more united and resilient.
