Statement No. 3 issued by the Crisis and Disaster Committee in Sidon Municipality

Following up on the previous data, and in light of the continuous flow and accelerating pace of displacement, the Crisis and Disaster Committee in Sidon Municipality issues the following update:

Field Numbers Update

- Number of shelters: The officially approved shelters in the city have increased to 24 centers.

- Number of displaced people: The number of arrivals at these centers has exceeded 9,000 people, which surpasses the currently available logistical capacities.

Based on the above, and out of both humanitarian and practical responsibility in dealing with the crisis, the Crisis and Disaster Committee in Sidon Municipality announces that the city has reached its maximum absorption capacity. They issue an urgent call to the relevant official, security, relief, and international bodies to direct displaced brothers and sisters to areas outside Sidon city, as there is no additional capacity to accommodate them or provide shelter in schools or public centers, or to meet their needs (food, medicine, water, and hygiene supplies).

At Sidon Municipality, while we affirm our constant support to our people through assistance from local NGOs and the community, we urge all local and international parties to intervene immediately to secure alternatives and provide To provide urgent support to the existing centers that are under immense pressure.
