In reference to what was circulated yesterday on some media outlets and social media platforms regarding the Municipality’s request to evacuate one of the buildings in the city, and the concern and anxiety this has caused among citizens—especially with some media using the municipal logo alongside the news—the Municipality wishes to clarify the matter and place it in its proper context, in order to prevent any misunderstanding.Sidon Municipality reassures the public that the notice issued to residents is strictly intended to allow for necessary reinforcement, restoration, and maintenance works on the building. Based on technical reports, the Municipality confirms that there is no imminent risk of collapse. The measure is purely preventive and regulatory, aimed at ensuring the safety of residents and the long-term integrity of the building.This action comes within the framework of a campaign announced two weeks ago, which began in cooperation with the association “Engineers of Sidon and Surroundings,” to inspect all buildings in the Old City as a priority, and subsequently all buildings across the city, in order to prevent any situation that may threaten the safety and security of residents.
