As part of the efforts of the Risk, Disaster, and Crisis Management Cell, the Public Works Committee of Sidon Municipality, headed by Committee Chairman Mohammad Dandashli, held a coordination meeting with representatives of the "Engineers of Sidon and Surrounding Areas" group. During the meeting, a specialized field initiative was launched, aiming for a comprehensive technical inspection of all approved shelters in the city .Accordingly, volunteer engineering teams, in cooperation with the municipality, will conduct a thorough technical survey encompassing building safety, structural assessment, and necessary repairs. This survey will also include inspections of electrical and sewage systems, bathroom fixtures, and solar energy systems to ensure the continuity of essential services .Based on these site visits, detailed reports will be prepared to serve as a roadmap for urgent interventions. Based on the above, the Municipality of Sidon and the "Engineers of Sidon and its Environs" group are calling on engineers wishing to volunteer and participate in this national mission to send their names and phone numbers via the group's communication channels no later than 3:00 PM tomorrow, Sunday, to allow for the organization of teams and the distribution of tasks, in preparation for the commencement of fieldwork on Monday morning. In conclusion, the Municipality of Sidon commends this high level of volunteerism among engineers in Sidon and its environs, emphasizing that the synergy of professional expertise with municipal efforts is the best way to address the repercussions of the aggression and the current humanitarian crisis.
