Within the framework of strengthening the city’s logistical capabilities and raising the field readiness of its technical workshops, the Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, received a delegation from the “Baraka Charitable Association – Lebanon,” headed by the Executive Director of the association, Mr. Mohamed Ajami, accompanied by his team, in the presence of several members of the Municipal Council.

During the meeting, the current situation and the field and humanitarian challenges facing the city were discussed, along with ways to develop prospects for joint cooperation in serving citizens and our resident communities.

The meeting was crowned by the handover of a heavy bulldozer to the Municipality of Sidon, offered as a donation by the Swiss Barakah Charity, in response to an urgent field need previously expressed by the municipality to support its fleet of machinery.

This equipment will directly contribute to strengthening emergency workshops and increasing the municipality’s capacity to respond quickly to emergencies and field crises, as well as supporting infrastructure works such as routine maintenance, road opening, and the removal of debris and rubble when needed.

Mr. Mohamed Ajami affirmed that this initiative comes within the association’s strategy to implement developmental and humanitarian projects across various Lebanese regions, and to equip local authorities with the machinery and equipment that enable them to continue their relief and service roles amid difficult conditions.

For his part, the Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, expressed, on his behalf and on behalf of the Municipal Council, his sincere thanks and appreciation to the “Baraka Charitable Association – Lebanon” and the donor entity “Swiss Barakah Charity” for this valuable and generous support. He emphasized that this step represents a true and successful model of strong partnership between civil society institutions and local authorities, serving as a key pillar in strengthening municipal resilience, sustaining development, and serving the people of Sidon.
