In an effort to strengthen collaborative action to address the repercussions of the ongoing Israeli aggression, the Municipality of Sidon held a comprehensive coordination meeting in the Municipal Council Hall. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Mustafa Hijazi and attended by Municipal Council members Hisham Hashisho, Youssef Ta'meh, and Ahmad Shuaib, as well as the Director of the Disaster and Crisis Risk Management Unit, Wafaa Shuaib, and representatives from local and international NGOs active in the city.

The meeting focused on three key areas aimed at organizing and improving relief efforts in the city:

- Evaluating the first phase of the crisis, which included a detailed description of the situation on the ground since the beginning of the crisis, along with a comprehensive assessment of the performance of shelters, distribution operations, and logistical services provided over the past two weeks.

- Identifying needs and challenges, with attendees highlighting the most significant gaps encountered in field operations, particularly in the areas of healthcare, hygiene supplies, and securing sustainable resources for centers that have exceeded their capacity. Practical proposals aimed at institutionalizing cooperation between the municipality and NGOs were presented and discussed, to ensure a faster and more accurate response to growing needs. Emphasis was placed on the necessity of unifying databases and effectively distributing roles.

During the meeting, Engineer Hijazi commended the essential and pivotal role played by NGOs in Sidon, considering them "the municipality's primary partner in this national mission." He affirmed that "this meeting aims to transition from the emergency response phase to a phase of organized and sustainable crisis management, to guarantee the dignity of our displaced people and protect the city's stability."
