Hijazi and members of the municipal council receive the Belgian ambassador and MP Al-Bizri. Sidon Municipality - Media Office

The Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, received the Belgian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mr. Arnaut Pauls, at the municipality headquarters. The ambassador was accompanied by MP Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Bizri, Dr. Zuhair Moussa, and Mr. Wael Bassat. Also present were members of the municipal council: Mohammad Dandashli, Baraa Al-Hariri, Majed Abdul Jawad, Youssef Taameh, Ahmad Shuaib, and the Director of the Disaster and Crisis Risk Management Unit, Wafaa Shuaib.During the meeting, Engineer Hijazi briefed the Belgian ambassador on the efforts undertaken by the Sidon Municipality, through its various departments and committees, to organize shelter operations and secure the basic needs of families displaced to the city and its surrounding area as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression. Ambassador Pauls also visited the municipality's operations room, where he was briefed on the room's work, the challenges facing municipal operations, and the essential needs to ensure the safety of residents and the continued provision of vital and social services under these challenging circumstances. Following the meeting at the municipality, Mr. Majed Abdel Jawad accompanied the Belgian ambassador and MP Al-Bizri on a field visit that included the shelter center at the Palace of Justice and the shelter center at the Omani School. The Belgian ambassador was briefed by center officials on the conditions of the displaced families and received a detailed explanation of the urgent relief and medical needs.
