On behalf of himself, the members of the municipal council, and all the employees and workers of the municipality, the Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mostafa Hajjazi, extends his warmest congratulations and sincerest greetings to the people of Sidon in particular, and to all Lebanese in general, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

This blessed occasion comes as our country Lebanon, and our city of Sidon and its surroundings, go through exceptional and harsh circumstances due to the ongoing Israeli aggression affecting people and property, leaving behind destruction and the precious blood of innocent martyrs. We ask God Almighty to bestow His vast mercy upon them.

Here at the Sidon Municipality, as we share in the bittersweet feeling of celebrating Eid amidst displacement and aggression, we emphasize that the meaning of Eid this year is embodied in the highest forms of solidarity and support shown by the people of Sidon towards their brotherly guests, and in the pride of the heroes standing firm on their land.

Despite the wounds and pain, and despite the sounds of shells trying to steal the joy from our children, Eid remains an opportunity to draw strength and faith. Our true celebration is reflected in our unity, in our ability to rise from the rubble, and in embracing each other as one body.We ask God to bring these blessed days back to Lebanon, free from the shadow of aggression, and to grant our wounded a speedy recovery, and patience and solace to the families of the martyrs, and may the displaced families return to their homes with honor and dignity.  

Sidon Municipality takes this opportunity to thank all the associations and residents for continuing their tradition of giving and solidarity during the holiday, to heal the wounds of those affected and bring smiles to the children in the shelters, assuring that the municipality will continue its work to serve the city and its people around the clock.
