As part of their field visits aimed at monitoring the implementation of the local emergency plan, the Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, accompanied by members of the Municipal Council Mustafa Al-Bizri, Majid Abdel-Jawad, Wael Qasab, and Mohammad Al-Shamas, and the Director of the Disaster and Crisis Risk Management Room, Wafaa Shuaib, conducted an inspection visit to both the Angelique Saliba Public Intermediate School and the Hikmat Al-Sabbagh Public High School. The visit aimed to assess the services provided and examine the logistical challenges at these two vital centers.The delegation reviewed the status of basic services, including water, electricity, and sanitation. Engineer Hijazi emphasized the need to address any emergency malfunctions in the sewage and water networks to ensure a healthy environment for the displaced persons. The municipal delegation also met with families residing in the two centers, listened to their living conditions, and affirmed that the municipality is working to the best of its ability with local and international partners to address any shortcomings. Discussions were held with supervisors and volunteers on ways to organize the distribution of aid and update data tables. The delegation commended the efforts of the volunteers and school administrations who are making tremendous efforts in these exceptional circumstances.
