The Sidon Municipality, in cooperation with the South Council and Nabaa Association, is distributing aid to displaced people in the streets of the city while shelters are being arranged for them.

As part of the rapid response plan for emergency humanitarian situations, the Sidon Municipality, under the supervision of municipal council member Wael Qasb and with the support of the Sidon town police, in cooperation with the "Southern Council" and the "Naba" Association, carried out a field relief campaign targeting displaced families temporarily staying in some streets and squares of the city.

This initiative aims to provide the minimum basic living essentials for these families who have not yet found a place in crowded shelters. The aid included emergency food rations consisting of meals and basic ready-to-eat items, as well as personal hygiene supplies to ensure the health safety of families and children while staying in public spaces.

Sidon Municipality emphasized that the priority now is not to leave any family without food or health support, regardless of their location, and to provide immediate assistance. However, it clarified that the presence of these families on the streets is a "temporary situation," as the operations room is working with Naba Association to list the names and then secure alternative shelters for them in coordination with the relevant authorities, whether within Sidon city if additional capacity is available, or in coordination with operations rooms in nearby areas and outside Sidon to arrange their transfer to centers.
