Sidon Municipality Disaster and Crisis Management Cell Launches Home-Based Aid Distribution Program for Displaced Families and Concludes First Day Successfully.

The Disaster and Crisis Management Cell at Sidon Municipality announced the launch of its aid distribution program for displaced families residing in homes within Sidon's administrative boundaries. The initiative is supervised by Municipal Council Member Engineer Mustafa Al-Bizri and implemented in cooperation with the South Council, with the participation of the Hariri Foundation, Dr. Nazih Al-Bizri Foundation, volunteers from the Lebanese University, Future Lebanon Scouts, the Lebanese Red Cross, Mouwasat Association, and Makassed Association, with support from the Sidon Municipal Police. The distribution process is being carried out according to a carefully planned phased approach to ensure assistance reaches all eligible beneficiaries. On the first day, aid was distributed to 200 families as the initial step of the program. The next phase will resume on Monday and will cover 400 families per day, continuing until all registered households are reached. The total number of displaced families registered and residing in homes has reached 2,728 households, comprising 14,188 individuals. Engineer Mustafa Al-Bizri emphasized that, in order to ensure the highest levels of transparency, Sidon Municipality has adopted a fully integrated digital system operating entirely online, with no paper-based or offline stages. The process begins with a dedicated online registration link for beneficiary families, followed by a digital verification and assessment phase during which information is reviewed and priorities are determined based on actual levels of need. Beneficiaries are then notified through messages containing unique codes for each application, along with scheduled dates and times organized into different groups to prevent congestion during distribution. Finally, all aid deliveries are digitally documented. The online system has significantly improved administrative efficiency compared to previous distributions. Sidon Mayor Engineer Mustafa Hijazi inspected the distribution process and noted the significant progress achieved through the implementation of the system overseen by Engineer Al-Bizri. He affirmed that Sidon Municipality is committed to delivering assistance as quickly as possible while adhering to standards of organization, fairness, and equal distribution among all displaced families residing in homes throughout the city. In conclusion, the municipality renewed its call for displaced families residing within its jurisdiction to register through the designated online link. It also stressed that each family must register separately, even if multiple families are residing at the same address, and that registration must be completed in the name of the displaced family rather than the host family.
