The Youth and Sports Committee at Sidon Municipality is organizing a series of sports and recreational activities for kids and young people in the shelters.

As part of the psychological and social support plan adopted by Saida Municipality to ease the impact of displacement on young people, the Youth and Sports Committee, headed by municipal council member Khaled Affara, has been organizing a series of regular sports and recreational activities for children and youth at various approved shelters in the city for the past week.

These activities are carried out in collaboration with Top Team Academy, with direct artistic supervision from coach Mohamed Affara and a team of specialized assistants.

The program, which visits shelters on a regular basis, includes various segments for different age groups, such as physical and movement exercises aimed at enhancing physical activity and releasing negative energy among adolescents, recreational and competitive games designed to spread joy and cooperation among children in the centers, and interactive stations focusing on building teamwork skills and sportsmanship under the challenging circumstances faced by displaced people.

Affara confirmed that these activities are an urgent necessity to fill the free time of youth and children with something beneficial. He said, "Sports are an ideal way to ensure the psychological balance of our children and youth who had to leave..."Their playgrounds and schools. Here in the Sidon Municipality, we aim to turn the shelters into an environment that nurtures their talents, and we work to keep these activities ongoing so that they regularly and systematically include all centers.
