As part of strengthening coordination with various local entities, Sidon Municipality held a meeting with the Follow-Up Committee stemming from the city's nonprofit organizations. The meeting was attended by Sidon’s Mayor, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, Deputy Mayor Dr. Ahmad Akra, municipal council members Youssef Taameh and Baraa Hariri, and the Director of the Disaster and Crisis Risk Management Cell, Wafaa Shaib, along with representatives from Ahluna Association, Al-Muwasat Association, Jami’ Al-Bahr Association, Hariri Foundation, Dr. Nazih Al-Bazri Foundation, Maarouf Saad Foundation, and Jbeil Agriculture Foundation. The latest updates regarding the general situation amid the ongoing displacement crisis were presented. 

The municipality briefed the committee on the most recent figures and data related to the approved shelter centers within the city, in addition to the conditions of displaced families living in homes and the scale of aid provided to both the centers and host families. The discussion also touched on the main challenges facing relief efforts at this stage. 

The meeting included an interactive discussion on ways each entity could contribute, within its capabilities, to addressing the existing problems, enhancing the effectiveness of responses, and ensuring a minimum standard of decent living for the displaced. 

Particular focus was given toThe problem of providing hot water in the shelters, with an agreement to follow up urgently to reach practical and sustainable solutions. Suggestions were also made to find additional sources for securing essential medicines to keep up with the increasing needs. At the end of the meeting, the importance of keeping communication channels open between the municipality and the associations was emphasized, with an agreement to hold regular meetings to follow up on developments and strengthen cooperation.
