**The Sports Affairs Committee at Sidon Municipality continues a series of recreational and sports activities for displaced children in shelters.**

As part of its commitment to providing psychosocial support to displaced families and easing the psychological pressures experienced by children, the Sports Affairs Committee at Sidon Municipality continues a series of intensive sports and recreational activities targeting hundreds of children hosted in the city’s shelters.

The committee’s activities, which included specialized coaches and volunteers, covered a number of official and community-based shelters, including: the Old Justice Palace, the Kuwaiti School, Marjan Secondary School (Thuraya Abu Alafaa), Dar Al-Yateem Al-Arabi, Dr. Nazih Al-Bizri Secondary School, Martyr Maarouf Saad Intermediate School, and Angelique Saliba School.

The activities varied between light athletics, mini football matches, relay races, as well as entertainment segments and physical games aimed at strengthening teamwork and bringing joy and happiness to the hearts of children who have endured the consequences of aggression and displacement.

The Head of the Sports Committee, Khaled Affara, affirmed that:
"This initiative comes from Sidon Municipality’s belief that care is not limited to providing food and water, but extends to include the psychological and physical well-being of younger generations. Sport is the best way to release negative energy and transform it into hope and vitality. We have witnessed wonderful interaction from the children, who have regained their smiles on the fields of these centers."
