The Disaster Risk and Crisis Management Unit at Sidon Municipality, in cooperation with the Sidon Urban Observatory and with the support of the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development, issued the latest statistical report on the number of displaced people hosted in the approved shelters as of 15 May 2026.

The logistical comparison with the previous report showed a slight increase in the number of people arriving at the shelters. Despite the additional pressure resulting from the arrival of new displaced families during the past week, the Crisis Unit, in cooperation with its partners, maintained advanced response levels, with minor variations recorded in some sectors due to distribution and consumption movements.

The newly recorded increase in the number of displaced people, amounting to 335 new arrivals, presents additional challenges for the Municipality and its operations room in ensuring the sustainability of support. The Municipality renewed its call to all donor organizations to continue supporting and accompanying these developments.

It affirmed that the efforts of its volunteers will continue to raise coverage levels across all sectors, ensuring the dignity and well-being of the displaced families hosted in the city.
