The Mayor of Sidon, Engineer Mustafa Hijazi, welcomed the Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Hanin Al-Sayed, at the municipal palace, during her inspection visit to check on the progress of relief work and efforts to shelter displaced people in the city. Alongside Mayor Hijazi, the minister was greeted by the Deputy Mayor, Dr. Ahmad Okra, members of the municipal council, and the Operations Room Director. During the meeting in the Operations Room, Minister Al-Sayed listened to a comprehensive presentation from Engineer Hijazi on the progress of relief and shelter work, the latest data on displacement numbers in centers and homes, and was also briefed on logistical challenges and the coverage rates of basic, food, and medical needs being addressed by the operations room in cooperation with partners. After the meeting, Minister Al-Sayed, accompanied by Engineer Hijazi and the municipal delegation, visited the Sidon Municipal Stadium, where she observed firsthand the distribution of aid organized by the Sidon Municipality for displaced people living in homes within the Sidon area. This effort is funded by the Qatar Development Fund and Qatar Charity in Doha, and implemented by the Qatar Charity office in Lebanon under the direct supervision of the office director, Mr. Muhammad Zahra. The minister also reviewed the mechanism.The organization that the municipality relies on for distribution ensures transparency, fairness, and speed in delivering aid to those who deserve it.

Minister Sayed praised the organizational model presented by the Saida Municipality, saying, "What we saw today in the operations room and at the municipal stadium reflects a high level of professionalism and dedication to humanitarian service. We highly appreciate the role of Saida Municipality in these exceptional circumstances, and we also extend our sincere thanks to the brotherly State of Qatar, its Emir, government, and people, as well as to the Qatar Development Fund and Qatar Charity for their continuous support for Lebanon and the Lebanese people."

For his part, Engineer Hijazi thanked the minister for her visit and follow-up, emphasizing, "The visit of Her Excellency the Minister to Saida today gives a boost to the work teams and volunteers. We continue to fulfill our national duty, and our coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the donor entities, like our brothers in Qatar, is the guarantee to sustain this response and expand the scope of aid to include all displaced people, whether in centers or homes."
