The Health Committee of the Municipality of Sidon, chaired by Dr. Taysir Al-Zaatari, has launched the first phase of a rodent, reptile, and insect control campaign in the vicinity of the Municipal Stadium, in partnership and cooperation with MJ Services, represented by its owner Mr. Nader Al-Masri.This campaign aims to protect public health for pedestrians and visitors of the municipal stadium by reducing the spread of rodents, reptiles, and insects. It also seeks to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all types of sports and recreational activities, guaranteeing the comfort of players, visitors, and workers, while preserving public facilities and stadium infrastructure from potential damage caused by pests. In addition, it strengthens prevention and public safety measures and helps reduce the risk of diseases and epidemics that may be transmitted through insects and rodents.Regarding implementation and follow-up, the campaign is being carried out in three phases over an initial period of three months, at a rate of once per month, accompanied by weekly field visits conducted jointly by the Health Committee and MJ Services to assess the situation before moving to the next phase.In terms of public safety, it is emphasized that the substances used for spraying on the ground, walls, and pathways to control reptiles and insects are fully compliant with public safety standards and are not harmful to human health. As for rodent control materials, they are placed in targeted areas among rocks where rodents are present, ensuring they remain out of reach of stadium users, especially children.
